Acadia Speech Therapy offers appointments T-Th 9:00-4:00. Please communicate scheduling needs and we will do our best to accommodate.
WHERE IS ACADIA SPEECH THERAPY LOCATED?
Acadia Speech Therapy is excited to announce the procurement of an office space at 172 Clark Point Road in Southwest Harbor! We also believe in the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors and may recommend using outdoor space when appropriate.
DO I NEED A PHYSICIAN’S ORDER/REFERRAL TO OBTAIN SERVICES?
No. A physician’s referral is not required for private pay services. However, if you are seeking reimbursement from your insurance company, we recommend you contact your insurer to determine what may be required.
DOES ACADIA SPEECH THERAPY TAKE INSURANCE?
Acadia Speech Therapy now accepts Medicare Part B. For all other insurers, upon request we will provide you with a form that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to determine coverage for services.
WILL INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?
Most insurers cover speech therapy services. It is the responsibility of the client to contact their insurance provider to determine if they will reimburse for speech therapy services. If you require assistance, please communicate this during your initial contact.
WHAT IF I HAVE MEDICARE OR MEDICAID (MAINECARE)?
We are proud to announce that we are now accepting Medicare as of July 2022! At this time we are not able to accept Medicaid (MaineCare).
DO YOU OFFER TELEPRACTICE?
At this time, Acadia Speech Therapy does not offer telepractice.
WHAT IS AN SLP?
“SLP” stands for speech-language pathologist and is the official title of speech therapists. The two titles are used synonymously.
I WAS REFERRED BY MY DOCTOR FOR SPEECH THERAPY, BUT MY SPEECH IS FINE. WHY DO I NEED SPEECH THERAPY?
Speech therapists treat many issues other than speech impairments, such as difficulty swallowing, memory deficits, voice disorders, executive dysfunction, literacy issues, and more. Give us a call if you’re not sure whether you need to see a speech therapist.
